Arts Schools Abroad -Outline of the programme

Arts Schools Abroad Programme was designed for creative applicants who are dreaming of studying a wide range of subjects connected to art, fashion, film and design, and attending art school abroad.

One of the most important elements of your application to study art and design is your portfolio. Art school admissions tutors will decide whether or not to invite you to interview based on the quality of the portfolio you submit. Elab will not only help you ensure your application is excellently crafted, but will also review your portfolio and guide you on how to improve and present it.

Arts Institutes Abroad - what makes a strong portfolio for Art and Design courses?

To study Art Abroad you will need a portfolio, portoflio  is a collection of examples of your work. Usually,  arts instituties ask you  to submit between 15-20 pieces, all of which have to be dated and accompanied by a short description or explanation of what you were aiming to achieve.

International students  can generally  send their portfolios by email- using a PDF format or PowerPoint – or by supplying a URL , as long as the portfolio can be accessed without a password, using Chrome, Safari or Firefox.

Portfolios form the basis of  art school interviews , so they need to be submitted before interview arrangements are sent out, but this is not necessarily the same time as your general application.

Each Arts Institutes in the UK, US and Europe has its own requirements, and Elab can give you information on their deadlines for portfolio submissions.

Your portfolio tells the arts instituties admission committee about YOU

Your passions and interests , how you plan and think, your ability, skills and creativity. Let your personality shine through your work. This is a wonderful  opportunity to share your ideas, and demonstrate your vision and enthusiasm and your suitability for a place at a leading art school
